MEET KRISTA
Krista Irish has over fifteen years of academic tutoring and educational consulting experience. After graduating from the Science, Mathematics, and Computer Science Magnet Program at Montgomery Blair HS in Silver Spring, Krista was a Banneker/Key Scholar at the University of Maryland at College Park. Before founding Krista Irish Consulting, LLC in 2019, Krista served as the Senior Program Director at MLS Educational Consultants for 12 years, worked as an SAT/ACT/GRE instructor at the Princeton Review for 3 years, and served as the Head Diving Coach at The George Washington University for 4 years.
In addition, Krista earned Parent to Parent Teacher certification from CHADD in 2013 and a College Counseling Certificate from the University of California at San Diego in 2015.
Finally, Krista is the President of Washington Independent Services for Educational Resources (WISER), a unique interdisciplinary organization for professionals who work in fields that serve students and individuals with learning and accessibility needs in the DC metropolitan area.

I love helping teenagers who feel anxious, frustrated, or overwhelmed gain the skills and confidence they need to achieve their academic, test prep, or college admission goals. I work with students online via video conferencing platforms, such as Zoom or Google Meet, to strengthen self-efficacy, minimize anxiety, and maximize performance.

Krista helps students reach their academic potential. Areas of expertise include higher math, reading comprehension, study skills, organization, time management, and avoidance coping strategies. Krista has extensive experience helping overwhelmed students strengthen the behaviors, skills, and belief in their abilities they need to achieve their goals.

After reviewing a student's learning profile, academic and extracurricular schedule, and ultimate score goals, Krista will design a program that will help students develop the discipline, mastery, and mindset to tackle their PSATs, SATs, ACTS, etc. with confidence.

The college application process should not be overwhelming. Krista inspires students to identify their strengths, brainstorm and organize their ideas, manage their process, and complete their applications with pride. An initial complimentary parent phone call or online meeting is recommended to discuss services and determine fit. All sessions are charged at an hourly rate.
